Brief to Staying in Iraq

  • Thesis: The People of the United States of America should be more willing to stay in Iraq until the problems with the dislike of the United States and terrorists, the control of Oil in the area, and the possible attacks from other countries in the area are resolved and stability is restored to a greater degree.
  • Reason: Because of the general dislike of the United States in the area, leaving Iraq now would only allow more terrorist groups to return to the area.
  • Evidence: The Middle East has always served as a hotbed of terrorist activities and an area that terrorists are tolerated, if not welcomed, because of their actions.
  • Evidence: Surveys show that the United States is still much disliked in the Middle East because of how they feel we treat other and are abusing their country.
  • Evidence: Since the new government in Iraq is still unstable, leaving now would allow the majority or dictators to overpower the minority and retake control of the country.
  • Reason: If the United States left the Middle East now, the price and amount of Oil coming to the US could be greatly disrupted as a method of attack or revenge.
  • Evidence: Raising the price of oil, limiting the amount the United States can buy, or cutting us off from the supply altogether are all methods the area could use to harm the country and its people.
  • Evidence: If terrorist groups returned to the area, they have the ability to take control of the oil and cut the United States off.
  • Evidence: This would greatly harm our military’s ability to counter attack or operated for a long term, due to lack of fuel for the heavy vehicles.
Reason: United States troops in Iraq detours other countries for attacking the United States.
  • Evidence: The fact that troops are within close proximity to their country and would counterattack quickly causes most countries to rethink attacking the United States.
  • Evidence: If an attack was to happen, troops would have the bonus of having the equipment and camps already deployed in Iraq, along with supply lines to the area and other necessities to wage war, and they would be able to operate in the attacking country for a long period of time.

You provide lots of evidence, which should make the next step easy for your partner. Good Job.
